Producer of Great Taste, officially!

Some of you might know that our Elderflower Lager Top and IPA Shandy were awarded one Great Taste star by the Guild of Fine Food in 2021 & 2022. We've always been very proud of this as Great Taste is pretty much the only widely-recognised food & drink award worth its salt.

So, when we decided to enter our latest two flavours (the Ginger Beer Shandy and Rhubarb Lager) to the 2023 edition, we were hoping for more success when the results were revealed at the beginning of this month. We couldn't have dreamt of what happened next...

Not only did BOTH shandies win an award, but they BOTH received TWO stars - putting them both in the top 10% of all products (including everything from fruit cakes to smoked bacon) entered this year. Unreal.

The judges' comments described the Ginger Beer Shandy as "distinctly moreish with a tongue-tingling fiery ginger finish - delicious!" and the Rhubarb Lager as "An ideal thirst quencher. Perfect for a summer picnic and extraordinarily uncloying." Not bad ey.

Following this year's success, we can now officially say Shandy Shack is a Great Taste Producer, having won awards in at least three of the last five years. What's more, all four of our shandies have now won awards and will proudly display a badge on their packaging.

A big high five must go to everyone involved in making our shandies - from the brilliant boffins that help us design our recipes, to the brewers that allow us to use their breweries to make them. But most of all, a tip of our cap to Tom, our co-founder and in-house shandy connoisseur, who leads our production. The boy did good.
